Andrew Galli • Film Producer

Andrew Galli developed an interest in music and film at an early age. He studied piano theory and composition at the Music Study School of Saratoga, California, and at the age of 18 was distinguished as being chosen as the State Winner for Piano Composition by the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC).

Andrew has degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and The University of Edinburgh School of Law, and served as the Editor of the California Legal Studies Journal and the Overseas' Student's Handbook - A Guide to Living in Edinburgh.

For 15 years Andrew pursued a successful career in Silicon Valley, California which climaxed with the sale of his fiber optics company in 1998. He moved to London and studied recording arts at the London Centre of Contemporary Music, earning a Diploma in Studio Sound Engineering in 2005.

He returned to California in 2006 and studied film production at the Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) in San Francisco.

He launched Studio Galli Productions in 2006, and returned to England to produce instructional films related to textiles and fine arts. He traveled to Japan in 2007 as Co-Producer and Director of Photography for a 400 year retrospective on Japanese textiles, and again to Great Britain in 2008 as Co-Producer of "The Festival of Quilts" commemorative DVD.

Andrew is presently developing film for the internet, as well as instructional and commemorative DVDs. He plans to release several new DVD titles in 2009, including "The Festival of Quilts 2009", "Off The Grid: Highlights from the Surface Design Association Conference 2009", and new instructional videos related to texile arts.

As a balancing point to his creative endeavors, Andrew enjoys volunteering for Under One Roof, a 501(c) non-profit in the Castro District of San Francisco, benefitting HIV/AIDS support organizations around the Bay Area.

He lives in San Francisco, California.
